About Steve Sjogren

Steve Sjogren

Small things done with great love will change the world.

Steve Sjogren pioneered the modern serving/outward-focused church movement more than 30 years ago when he planted a church in Cincinnati. The church grew from 5 people to over 6000, primarily through a strong emphasis on caring for the needy, small groups, and showing God’s love in practical ways such as cleaning toilets for local businesses, giving away bottles of water at busy stoplights, and delivering hot dogs and hamburgers door-to-door.

Steve has observed in more than 30 years as a church planter and coach: that a church’s greatness has less to do with thousands in weekly attendance, the size of the sanctuary or the number of books the pastor has published.  Instead, greatness is an ongoing process that is moved by the presence of God among His people.

Steve has spoken, mentored and modeled to churches and leaders around the world that any believer –regardless of gifting—can be involved in sharing God’s love with others.  He invites your community of faith to uncover its true and authentic greatness.

Steve Sjogren is a graduate of Lutheran Bible Institute of California and Bethany College (Kansas).  He has been involved in church planting in Oslo, Norway, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Ohio and Tampa, Florida.  Steve has written the bestseller Conspiracy of Kindness as well as 101 Ways To Reach Your Community, Making A Good Church Great, The Day I Died, Heaven’s Lessons and many more books to encourage and empower people around the world.
