Lonnie Frisbee Autobiography Coming

Few people have had more impact on the 20th church scene in the west than a little known guy named Lonnie Frisbee. Like a lot of change makers, he was controversial, and sadly, he died pretty much penniless, and with few steadfast friends, yet God chose to use this guy in amazing ways.

I was excited to hear that an autobiography of Lonnie was in the works – one based on his journals and an extensive library of taped interviews. When I was contacted by the editors of this book to see if I would be willing to write the forward to this, I instantly said yes. I knew Lonnie – a lot of people knew him, but I guess not many of them are writers.

The book is jam packed with Lonnie’s Holy Spirit stories connected with the stirring up and the release of the power of God he was known for. He also gives a birds eye account into the power ministry that went on in the launching of two well-known denominational movements. A lot of Lonnie stories have circulated for years. Perhaps you have heard a few yourself. I encourage you to either pick up a copy of this or get the kindle version when it comes out on July 4th. I will tantalize you by sharing outtakes of the book in coming weeks.

    Steve, I remember vividly you telling stories about him while you were here in CINCY. I am really looking forward to your posts and release of his book on kindle. We miss you greatly here at VCC. Hope you and Janie are doing well . Blessings abd love at you two, Larry Freese

    For years I have had heard rumors of someone producing an “authorized” autobiography regarding Frisbee, but nothing ever seemed to come of it. The guy has been dead for how many years now? Almost 20 years? So are you saying there is definitely a book coming out in July? Who are these “editors” you mentioned? Is there a book publisher already lined up? Who is it? Can I get a hardback edition?

    You have provided few details. Pardon me for being a tiny bit skeptical, but I have been long disappointed by big promises that turn up empty. It seems everybody wants to make big-money blockbuster movies about Lonnie, when all that was really needed (and which I have always wanted) was just a simple well written biography.

    The primary editor of Lonnie’s biography is someone Lonnie authorized to do this in his will – one of his long-time friends who traveled quite a bit with him. His name will appear in the book. I too have heard talk of interest in full-length feature films about Lonnie. My guess is anything along those lines would be based on this book – all of which is in Lonnie’s words.

    Thank you, Mr. Sjogren, for the response, although I don’t understand the need for the unnecessary vagueness. Going by the hints you’ve dropped, it is highly likely the person supposedly “authorized to do this in his will” is Roger Sachs. There’s not much mystery (or secrecy) regarding this since Sachs has had a web site up for several years saying precisely this. So I am guessing you are under some kind of contractual obligation not to be more explicit about the book. Anyhow, assuming a real honest-to-goodness book is coming out, I am eagerly looking forward to reading it.

    The title of the book is Not by Might, Nor by Power, The Jesus Revolution. The author is Lonnie Frisbee with Roger Sachs. The tentative publication date is July 4, 2012. I am working with Roger today to wrap up the final proofs so that the book will be available 7/4. The publisher is Freedom Publications, a division of Rogers’ ministry, Freedom Crusade…

    Will the book be Stan Frisbee approved? Will Meri C make her movie of Lonnie? I know Roger, he is well acquainted with Lonnie and has seen some stuff…this should be a great read!

    I too look forward to reading the book. I just happened upon your site tonight. The interesting thing is I worked today on Lonnie’s unfinished painting of Genesis chapter 22, verses 1-19. I felt inspired to try and finish it…Now Roger is finally going to finish his assignment!

    On Saturday (10/6/2012) Stan Frisbee delivered a copy of the book to me. Of course I read it cover to cover at one sitting.

    I am very impressed! Having known Lonnie since 1969 and knowing how he speaks, I could easily tell that the book is authentic. I was present on some of the taping events when Roger was recording and recalled some of those moments in the book.

    Folks, this is the real deal. If your interested in “Walking in the Spirit” you may want to read the book to see how the
    Holy Spirit moved in Lonnie’s life.

    I have not discussed the book with Stan Frisbee yet.

    I look forward to more from Roger. The heritage anointing is obvious. “Called for such a time as this.” I would encourage Roger to believe for more and greater discovery in the Holy Spirit. There truly are no limits in doing God’s work in Love.

    I am Connie Bremer, Frisbee, Murray’s sister. I too, was living at the Blue Top motel when Connie and Lonnie were. I came to the lord in 1969. But being Connie’s sister has caused me nothing but pain. Everyone thinks Connie is spiritual but not me, she has run rampant through my l;ife, leaving only destruction, division, and hate. I don’t have enough time to tell all, but last year she broke my nose and I just found out that four days after that she went to the gun shop and bought a 44 magnum. Scarey huh. Presently she has set her younger brother up on a gun possession charge thatif convicted, he will spend the rest of his life in jail. I am hoping that god will not allow this to happen. But she has used GOD her entire life to persecute others. She has used lies to turn all the family members away from each other. She blames everyone else for what went wrong in her life. Never taking any blame or making any amends when she has hurt or wronged someone.
