Mistake #12. Giving Up.

don't give up

God’s heart is broken over our hearts. His overriding desire is to bring the world into his family. This is simply too important to God and His purposes to not commit ourselves to it—heart, soul, and strength.

The epicenter of the entire message of the Bible is John 3:16. “For God so loved that world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” God, the Trinity made an eternal sacrifice by allowing Jesus to be sent to earth, and eventually to be put to death on the cross. We can’t fathom the price paid to send Jesus to make us right with the Father.

The price has been paid. That’s history. Now all that is left to be done is to convey the message of that love. That is best communicated through acts of love and service followed up by an explanation in words of God’s love. Simple. Profound. Obedient.
What God calls us to is not all that difficult. His call is doable.

We can complain if we wish. Is that going to accomplish much good…really? Will our complaint accomplish one thing? Perhaps the intelligent response when a challenge comes our way is to shut our mouths, to venture forward by faith and to resist the temptation to do something incredibly dumb in our frustration.

We can’t give up.
