You will probably find there are less than five projects that seem to work remarkably in your community. Think of these as your anointed projects. This is good news. This means you don’t need to be great at lots of things in order to make a real impact on lives around you. You only need to do a few things well.
Consider these questions:
What fits our passions?
What fits our background?
What will our community respond to (what will say to them, “God is madly in love with you!”)?
In my experience, you will find just a handful of recyclable golden projects that you can use over and over again. That list will be short—probably less than five projects long. Here is one golden project to get you started—free bottles of water. People are thirsty everywhere you go all the time. The people right around you are thirsty. They are probably thirsty right now. They need to be refueled with water several times a day. As your team shows up with bottles of water you will meet a practical need in their life. They will experience the love of God in a profound way as they drink that water and they will know a bit more of the love of God.
how about coffee? around here people get thirsty for coffee several times a day, plus it’s warm and comforting in the rain…
